Me Belleau dit avoir été attirée par Pringle Avocats puisque ce cabinet innove dans sa pratique et est impliqué dans de nombreuses causes qui risquent, à son avis, de révolutionner certaines pratiques en droit de la famille.
«Tellement de choses ont changé dans le domaine depuis les dernières années, dit-elle. Il y a beaucoup de changements à apporter dans notre pratique si on veut être à jour et bien défendre nos clients. Certains cabinets hésitent à bouger. Mon cabinet pousse pour aller plus loin, être à l’avant-garde et s’adapter aux nouvelles réalités, et ça me plait.»
Me Belleau apprécie son équipe et l’ambiance de travail du cabinet. Elle peut compter sur le soutien de sept avocats, dont trois seniors d’expérience. Divorces, séparations, gardes d’enfants et droits des conjoints de fait sont les principaux dossiers que l’équipe de juristes prend en charge.
Parcours scolaire
La jeune avocate a étudié le droit à l’Université de Montréal. Elle a obtenu son diplôme en 2017 pour mener à terme son Barreau l’année suivante.
Dès sa première année d’étude en droit, Me Belleau confie à Droit-Inc qu’elle a toujours été passionnée par le droit de la famille. Choisir son champs de pratique n’a donc pas été difficile à faire.
Avant d’aller vers le droit, l’avocate a suivi une formation universitaire en psychologie qui lui a valu une mention d’excellence en 2011.

il y a 6 ansUsually psychology degrees are a complete waste of time but if you're going to practice family law it may actually come in handy. I've seen many people become complete whack jobs after getting divorced, especially in cases involving infidelity.

il y a 6 ansAs someone who has my office next to a family lawyer's office in my firm, I can confidently affirm that her psychology degree will come in more handy in her practice than her law degree.
Besides splitting a house in 2 and a lot of paperwork, 90% of a family lawyer's job is listening to the client's hatred of the opposing party and making the client agree with a good deal despite said hatred.

il y a 6 ansThat's the very reason why I gave up my busy family law practice. Too much psychology involved. The worst is when you have to tell a wife that she'll have to pay spousal support to her ex-husband and share her pension plan with him.

il y a 6 ansI had a friend approach me asking how he could have his ex's joint custody revoked because she was posting pics of herself partying on her Facebook. I just told him I don't do those types of cases. But could you imagine having to deal with that kind of crap for a living? What a sucker.
